2. What does the buffalo represent?
3. Search "Stop Hunger Now" and "Rachael Ray's Yum-O Organization" and see some of the organizations that help end hunger here in America and in foreign lands. Comment with your thoughts on hungry kids and what we can do.

  1. The baby's death was a symbol of what could happen to any baby or person in the village if they couldn't get more food.
The buffalo represents the person that is whipped to obey every command at the expense of its freedom.
With all the food that is thrown out in America you could feed a small country. I think an organization could pick up food scraps instead of sending it to a landfill.

  3. Buffalos symbolize something that is fleeting and needs to be protected. They were also a symbol of power and a source of life to Native Americans.

  4. 1. The baby's death is important to the village because it effects everyone. The reason they feel bad about it is because they know the harvest and the lack of food affects Dao therefore it affected the baby.

    2. The buffalo represents the farmers and how the land lords are pretty much controlling everything. Just as they are controlling the buffalo's.

  6. 1. The baby isn't the only person in that village suffering, being that everybody is going through the same thing it really scares the villagers of what might happen next.
    2. The buffalo represents the landlord on how they tame the villagers "pulling them by their noses" to tame and control them.
    3. I really hate that there are actually people who starve in this world being that we in North Carolina waste food the way we do, I wish we could help by giving food these people knowing that we can.
